Its about an hour since our qualifying session and I'm still a bit frustrated. Like I said in my previous entry, I had said that the first couple laps on the new tires would be essential in putting in a good qualifying performance, and today, I really learnt how true those words were.

The car is handling pretty well this weekend, of course, there is never anything called perfect, but I would say that besides a few minor issues, it was a car that definitely could've fought for a top 10.

I had a good lap going on lap 2, but I oversped slightly into turn 9 and I was slightly late getting to the gas out of the corner onto the back straight. As I drove down the back straight that lap, I immediately thought to myself, that is going cost me. And that it did!!! I finished qualifying in a disappointing 19th position. Although it is 1 second off the pole sitter, even a mere 2 tenths of a second would've put me just outside the top 10. That exact mistake I made in turn 9 cost me 8 positions! This is called learning not to make mistakes the hard way!!

Its going to be crazy tommorow on the track because starting that far back always leads to crazy driving. With Alessandro Zempedri just ahead of me and Patrick Huisman closely behind me, I will have to fight some racing veterans as well. This afternoon, I will work with my engineer Sven to have a good race setup for tommorow so that I can work my way back up the field. But I will have to make life easier for myself by consistenly putting in stronger qualifying results.
