Well, its been nearly a week since I got back from Sepang and I'd have to say its been pretty busy..

I actually started the week by going over to Metro Radio. We're going to be doing a series of interviews which runs on the weekly motoring show in Hong Kong. Metro FM99.7 on Saturdays 11am..It started this week and it will hopefully lead into a series throughout the year...I think i'll have to make sure my canto is up to par!

I also headed over to Hangzhou in China for a promotion on Thursday for Porsche Centre Hangzhou. They did a pretty unique event. It was a joint DBS-Porsche Golf tournament. This weekend of entertainment included for the clients: golf clinics, Porsche test drives, a golf tournament, golf trickshot demonstration, spa, cigar and whisky tasting, dinners, etc etc etc....

I made a speech during dinner to talk about my racing career with the guests, then on the next morning, hosted the Porsche test drive portion of the day. It was a great event and thanks to Porsche Centre Hangzhou for inviting me. The guests were great and I met some very interesting people over the weekend. I hope to have some time to work on my golf swing....but finding the time is the hard part!

I've been back in the gym training getting ready for my race next week in Bahrain. Really excited about getting back behind the wheel of the car..EsPECially back in the Supercup..

Hong Kong is soooo busy this weekend as it is the annual Rugby 7's weeekend. Its very difficult to grab a taxi or to just go anywhere without having a crowd...I'm definitely going to try to get over to the HK stadium to catch a few rugby games though....

Round 2 of the race was today at the Malaysian GP. The track was pretty hot so the conditions completely changed.

I had a good start and managed to outbrake marchy into turn 1. I was trying to stay with menzel on the opening lap but my car didnt have much grip. He opened a 2 car length lead near the end of the lap, but because of the low grip, he ran wide into turn 13 which allowed me to overtake him.

Everyone was sliding around alot so it was a tough race. I felt it was important to drive smooth and consistent. This paid off as I was able to open a 2.5 second lead from Christian Menzel by the end of the race. I managed also to record the fastest lap of the race with a 2.11.71.

Very happy and pleased with the result. It's great to get the first win behind me and I hope I can keep it going into the next PCCA race in Shanghai. I'll have a small celebration tonite but get right back to focusing on my first supercup race in Bahrain two weeks from now...

1. D. O'Young
2. C. Menzel
3. C. Jones
4. M. Lee
5. M. Marsh

Fastest Lap, D. O'Young 2.11.71

Unfortunately, Tim broke a gear box and wasn't able to start the race!!! Tough one Tim...

Saturday was the first race of the year for PCCA in Sepang.

I started from fourth. Had a great start and moved into 3rd position overtaking Marchy. I was right behind Menzel and Sugden during lap 1 but I locked the rears in the last corner and spun around.

In qualifying yesterday, the car was locking the fronts, so I turned the bias back one notch to try and solve this problem. This ended up being the reason I locked my rears during the race!

I fought back hard and luckily recovered immediately. I managed to rejoin in 7th and in about 4 laps, I was able to overtake Dilantha, Marsh, and Jones. I chased down the lead pack and set the fastest lap in the process, but they were just too far ahead to catch.

Fortunately, on the last lap, Sugden suffered a puncture and I was able to pass him on the last corner. This gave me some valuable points for the championship and a decent starting position for tommorows race.

Hopefully I can get a good start and go fight for the win.

I gotta stop making the race so hard for myself!!! haha

Results race 1:

1. C. Menzel
2. M. Lee
3. D. O'Young
4. C. Jones
5. T. Sugden

Fastest Lap: D. O'Young 2:10.75

Tough qualifying today.... I'm have a cold/flu this weekend but I've been able to fight it off alrite so far. I felt my concentration wasn't 100% so I made small mistakes here and there. The track conditions were hard as well and the grip level was very low. We were over a second slower than our times from the Test day here last month.

On my flying lap which was the 3rd lap on my new set of tires, I got blocked and the data showed I lost 6tenths of a second. That lap was the lap that ended up being my fastest due to yellow flags etc during the session. If I wasn't blocked, I think I would've ended up somewhere around second position, but instead, I ended up 4th on the grid in the second row.

It'll be a good race tommorow, I feel I have a good setup on the car and I'm going to fight for every position during the race.

Next stop, back to my hotel and I'm going to take some meds and sleeeeep off my cold!!

Qualifying times,

1. T.Sugden 2.10.1
2. C.Menzel 2.10.5
3. M.Lee 2.10.7
4. D.O'Young2.11.0
5. A.Li 2.11.3
6. C.Jones 2.11.5
7. M.Marsh 2.11.5
