I'm glad to be back here again for the 24 hours of Spa. I remember back in 2006, I ran here in a 996 GT3 RSR, and this time, I'm back in the 997 GT3 RSR with my FIA GT Team, Prospeed Competition.

The big difference this wknd is that I'll be moving from the teams #61 car over to the #60 Porsche. I will be driving along side Emmanuel Collard, Richard Westbrook and Sean Edwards....

It's been a day of rain and shine here at Spa... Since this morning, the conditions haven't stopped changing...

Early in the morning, Westbrook and Edwards took the car out on a wet track and ran the first laps for the team...

Later on in the day, Collard and I took the car out in the 2nd session and ran the car in the dry...The car is running well and we were able to put the car in P3 and P4 in the two practice sessions...

It was great learning the circuit in the RSR. I forgot how much downforce is generated in comparison to the Cup Car as alot of places where it was high speed and difficult in the cup car, it seemed to be more stable and easier to keep a high minimum corner speed...

The first qualifying session just finished about an hour ago. We didnt have very good luck during the session as it began raining after 3 laps. Collard was driving and he wasn't able to really bring out the potential of the car putting the car 7th in class and 16th overall...

There are two more night qualifying sessions tonight but it looks like the rain is going to keep on coming. Each of the drivers need to take the car out for 3 laps in the night so we're going to do that in about half an hour.

Fingers crossed, hopefully the track will dry in the final qualifying session so we can try to better our grid position, but that is highly unlikely.

Ok everyone, I have to admit it.. I've been lazy the past few weeks in my blogging...Since my last Zhu Hai race, alot of things have happened!

Redbull has become the fastest Formula 1 team on the track taking over from Brawn GP! Michael Jackson, the pop legend has passed away, and even more sadly, two hotels in Indonesia were bombed last week, the same weekend I had meant to be there... For once, I am extremely happy a race was postponed for us as the Indonesia stop was moved back a months time....

Moving on, although I've been lazy in my blogging, I haven't been lazy in Hong Kong! I've been extremely busy with things having several interviews with television, newspaper, and radio..I had several events for my sponsors including a Porsche weekend where we invited many customers to come to the Kowloon Bay Service center to try out and see many new and used Porsche's which were for sale....I've also been training extremely hard in the gym by stepping up my training program to 3 hour long sessions 6 days a week.. ok......sometimes 5 days a week when im really busy...;)

I posted some copies of interviews up on my website and facebook fan page. Although I had several interviews, the most fun had to be the one where I hosted as a guest DJ on a 1 hour radio show for Commercial Radio...I managed to choose and play various songs on the radio from my childhood all the way up to present time... lots of fun! It was also for a good cause as the charity I chose for donations was World Vision Hong Kong, which is a Christian Charity that puts volunteers and money to work for those in need.

Anyhow, off I go to one of the biggest races of the year..The 24 hours of Spa in Belgium.. I will be posting various updates throughout the weekend and it will hopefully give you alot of insight to what the 24 hours of Spa is all about...

It was a tough day at the race track today...Although it didn't turn out exactly how I had planned it, I was still able to come out of the weekend with a decent result which included a race win in Round 6!

It all went wrong in qualifying yesterday when I was penalised for going slightly too wide out of turn 4 which took away my pole position. This put me on the 2nd row to start from 3rd position for race 1 of the weekend.

In race 1, I didn't get the clean start I wanted and lost a position to Tim Sugden in turn 1. I began to fight with Avila on the first lap, one that left me with a spin in turn 9. I was able to fight back through the field and after Menzel had an engine failure, I was able to grab back the final podium position...The top 3 in the race was 1.Avila 2.Sugden 3.O'Young

I was pleased to be able to make it back up the field but was quite upset with myself for spinning on the opening lap. I feel the team did a great job this weekend and I had a car that could win the race so it wasn't the best feeling to settle for third especially when I was trying to close the gap to the championship leaders..

In race 2, I was still confident that I had a quick car and I managed to put race one completely behind me. This time, I had a better start off the line and was able to squeeze pass Avila out of turn 1. This put me in second place behind Sugden.

I decided to not attack Sugden immediately and try to drive some clean laps behind Sugden in order to get away from Avila. This worked as we were able to open up a three car length gap. However, after about 5 laps, I soon saw Avila closing the gap to me again so I knew I had to make my move.

I pushed hard to get right behind Sugden and I made my move outbraking him into turn one. This allowed Avila to start attacking him and when I looked up in my mirror, I suddenly had a 3 or 4 second gap.

I pushed extremely hard the next few laps and extended my lead some more. I then backed off a bit and brought the car home to give Team Jebsen their second win of the season....

Although I'm extremely happy to have taken victory in front of my home crowd and nearly 60 Team Jebsen guests, I guess I still have a small unhappy feeling with my mistake in race one because I knew I had it in me to take the double victory this weekend..

Oh well!! I'm going to have a couple wknds off which will give me plenty of time to shake it off and prepare for our next race in Sentul, Indonesia...

I am going to be training extremely hard in the gym the next couple weeks as I will be preparing for the 24 hours of Spa which will take place a week after Sentul in July...

Zai jian!

This weekend I'm in Zhu Hai and we just finished the qualifying session earlier on today. This circuit is like a home race for me as it is only a 1 hr ferry ride away from Hong Kong so many fans and friends usually come over to see my races...

Yesterday during free practice, I quickly found a great balance in the car and was running very quick. I was P1 in the first session and P2 in the second practice session.

I felt quite at ease and was ready to try and put my car on pole position today.

Early on in the qualifying session, I was able to set a decent time, just enough to grab P1 after the first 3 laps of the session. It was a very slim margin of only 0.05 seconds, so I opted to go out for a second run on the new tires.

I planned to do only one lap and I was able to nail it....I set a time of 1:39.90 which gave me pole position in the session, only 1 tenth of a second ahead of Christian Menzel of Germany...

However, after feeling great and celebrating with the team, it was quickly taken away. After video review, the stewards deemed that I had run about 1/2 a foot wide on an exit of turn 4. They decided it was an infringment and stripped me of my fastest lap in the race. It was a tough one because I knew that extra space gave me no time advantage..I thought I was on top of the line but I guess I was over it just a bit...my mistake!

With my pole time taken away in the session, it put me down the order to 3rd position for tomorrows start. I am mainly disapointed as I have lost the extra point for taking pole position...It is a tougher start position but I'm glad that I'm still on the second row for tomorrows race... I feel that I have the pace to drive a strong race tommorow so I'm definitely going to drive hard and try to take the win...

it'll come down to having a strong start and a patient race..There are alot of braking sections to try and overtake so this should make it an interesting race...

It was a tough race right from the start, and we definitely gave it the best show we could, but the problems were just too many which has led us to retire after 16 hours here at the 24 hours of Le Mans.

There was a big opening ceremony to the event which was filled with people. It included lining up all the cars on the grid diagonally like the old Le Mans day....

I started the race for the team and drove a strong stint over taking 3 cars before handing the car over to my team mates. However, trouble came when Plamen Kralev, my team mate from Bulgaria drove his first stint. The car stopped on the back straight which was about 5km from the paddock.

The technical guys from Porsche Motorsport and our chief mechanic blasted off on their scooters to go and help him. The regulations state that the car must make it back to the paddock on its own power and that only the driver was aloud to touch the car. It was a worrying moment as we thought the race was going to be over after 3 hours!

But much to our delight, with the aid of Porsche, Plamen was able to fix the car and get the car fired up again and limp it back to the box for repairs. That had already cost us about 90 minutes in the race.

After the car was repaired, I went back in the car for a double stint which lasted just over 2 hours. The car felt great and consistent which helped me to lap very quick times as night started to set in.

I was able to get a couple hours rest and back into the car I went for the next double stint which again lasted 2 hours. This one was extremely hard as it was from 2am-4am... Driving in the night and being quite tired made me muster every bit of concentration out of me. I suffered a puncture during the stint but this didn't set us back too much.

To be so far behind so early in the race, we had a mindset to get the car to the finish line and were no longer fighting for positions. But it just wasn't meant to be...the car soon suffered a gearbox problem and the car came back to the box. I jumped into the car and tried to continue by driving without 4th gear. This was extremely difficult as I struggled alot to downshift and we used 4th gear in many areas of the circuit.

I finished the 2 hour stint without 4th gear and once I started to get the hang of it, was only lapping a few seconds slower than our previous lap times...

But the race really came to and end when the clutch began to slip. This was most likely caused by the difficulties we suffered with the gearbox...Our race ended at 16 hours.

I have to thank the Endurance Asia Team for giving it truly their best effort. We gave it everything we got and I was able to get alot of laps and experience here at Le Mans. There is so many things going on throughout the race and all this is stuff I can take with me to other endurance races in my career. I hope to be back next season and challenge again for a good result here at the 24 hours. It has been a unforgettable and tremendous experience, one that I will remember for the rest of my life....
