My life in the fast lane
the newly resurfaced Sentul circuit...

With the track newly resurfaced a few weeks ago, the Sentul circuit in Jakarta Indonesia is extremely difficult to drive on due to how slippery the surface of the track is.

Yesterday in free practice, I tried various setups to gain grip on the car but the changes didn't seem too repsonsive with the car sliding around alot.

There is also a very narrow racing line on the track because off line is just so dirty and running even half a car length wide of the apex forces your car to slide really wide. This has lead to it being very hard to get consistent lap times on the track which should make it quite interesting in the race this afternoon.

It will also be challenging to get that perfect lap in qualifying as driving on the limit and trying to stay exactly on the racing line will be harder than anywhere I've driven this year. The surface changes between ashpalt and concrete also add to the fun!

For those that are wondering about my hand, yes it still hurts, but I've managed to be able to drive around the pain and will definitly be ok for qualifying and the race. I've adjusted my grip slightly on the wheel which makes it manageable and all I have to say is lucky that my hand isn't injured on the right which would be my shifting hand...

Qualifying and race 1 this afternoon. I'll give you an update when I can...

Ouch!! Stitches.......

I made it through all of my childhood without having to get stitches....so I thought maybe I was out of the clear...Not true!!

Yesterday, I was cutting some fruit..I was trying to take out the pit when the knife slipped and went through the fruit, and into my palm...it was a deep cut..

I rinsed it off, put pressure on it, and rushed off to the hospital...

I had to get 4 stitches on my palm...the first time in my life! I have it all bandaged up now and I'm hoping that it will heal more over the next couple days..

It hurts to move my hand, which I suspect will make it difficult to compete as I am racing this weekend in Sentul, Indonesia..

Im definitely going to race and tough it out..but I have a feeling its going to be a painful experience!! Im off to Jakarta Thursday morning and I'll let you know how it goes by friday!!

There are 2 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia free practice sessions on Friday and qualifying and a race on saturday. The second race of the weekend will be on Sunday...

With 10 minutes to go in the race, we were unable to make it back far enough to grab the victory.

The team will settle with 3rd place overall at this years race.

Hope to come back next year and challenge for the victory..The team drove a hard race and Team PCS Racing did a absolutely brilliant job..

There is 3 hours remaining in the race and pushed up to 3rd position. It is a hard race right now and Im a bit tired due to the extreme heat.

It is night now and we are pushing very hard! Mok Weng Sun has already finsihed his last stint and now Baird and I are trading back and forth to try and close the gap to the two Petronas BMW's.

Its goin to be a tough task as they are running very consistent. But they are 6 laps ahead and we are closin on them at about 5-7 seconds a lap...

7 hours down and 5 hours to go!

We are pushing hard to get back up the leader board. After 7 hours, we are up to 6th place overall but are still 9 laps down on the two leading Petronas BMW's. We are pushing VERY hard and giving it everything we got.

We are gaining on them at a rapid pace but they are very consistent as they have a strong driver line up in the cars. We are just going to keep lapping fast and overtaking the traffic aggresively and try to make up the positions.

The comeback is going well! Lets see how it plays out as we head into the night session of the race.
