With the track newly resurfaced a few weeks ago, the Sentul circuit in Jakarta Indonesia is extremely difficult to drive on due to how slippery the surface of the track is.Posted by Administrator
Yesterday in free practice, I tried various setups to gain grip on the car but the changes didn't seem too repsonsive with the car sliding around alot.
There is also a very narrow racing line on the track because off line is just so dirty and running even half a car length wide of the apex forces your car to slide really wide. This has lead to it being very hard to get consistent lap times on the track which should make it quite interesting in the race this afternoon.
It will also be challenging to get that perfect lap in qualifying as driving on the limit and trying to stay exactly on the racing line will be harder than anywhere I've driven this year. The surface changes between ashpalt and concrete also add to the fun!
For those that are wondering about my hand, yes it still hurts, but I've managed to be able to drive around the pain and will definitly be ok for qualifying and the race. I've adjusted my grip slightly on the wheel which makes it manageable and all I have to say is lucky that my hand isn't injured on the right which would be my shifting hand...
Qualifying and race 1 this afternoon. I'll give you an update when I can...
