Quickest in free practice at Macau...

It was an interesting session today for the Macau GT. There were alot of cars on track, 36 GT cars to be exact. With different skill levels and speeds between cars, it lead to alot of traffic in todays practice session.

At the beginning of my session, I went in quickly to the pit to check that everything was ok on the car. I went back out immediately and tried to put in a good lap time.. However, after two attempts, I came into extreme traffic on both laps and decided to come into the pit to give my team some data, such as tire pressures and temperatures..

At the same time, the team realised we had a slow puncture on the right front tire. I changed the tire and went back out for 1 flying lap. I managed to get a somewhat clear lap and clocked in a time of 1:30.1. This lap managed to be 3 seconds faster than second place Danny Watts in a Porsche and Keita Sawa in the Lamborghini...

I suspect my competitors also had alot of traffic and I know qualifying will be much much closer tomorrow. I will drive my hardest in qualifying tomorrow and I hope that I can get a clear lap in order to put in a fast lap!

Below are some pictures from todays practice session. Thanks to Team Jebsen, Blue Girl Beer, Aha Coffee, LKM, and Hotel Royal Macau for their support in this weekends race!

First off, I would like to thanks God for guiding me to victory in this years championship. It was a season of ups and downs, but at the end, we were able to fight through and take the title...thanks to everyone for all the calls, text messages, emails, and words of congratulations! It means alot to me, even though I can't answer all of them right away! haha...

After I arrived back from Bahrain, I didn't get any time to celebrate as we had Team Jebsen's press conference in the Porsche Showroom then off I came to the Macau Grand Prix.

The PCCA championship was won for all of us because without the support of my sponsors, fans, family and friends, this result really wouldn't be possible. So thankyou to everyone!!

I arrived in Macau yesterday and I can't wait to start practice tomorrow. There's still such a special feeling here in Macau during the grandprix weekend, its a completely different atmosphere than wut Macau usually has and it's by far my favorite race weekend in my whole years calendar...

This year, I won't be competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia as I have been in the past 4 seasons, but instead, this year is the ingural weekend of the Macau GT. This year, instead of it being a spec Porsche race, I'll be racing against all makes of cars such as Lamborghini's, Ferrari's, Aston Martins etc.. I've brought out a slightly modified Porsche 997 GT3 Cup Car for this race. The race is live on TVB in Hong Kong at 10:30am on Sunday!

The last time this car turned a wheel was when I took the checkered flag for the win in Macau one year ago! The car has been checked up by the Jebsen service team at the Porsche Centre Hong Kong service centre..

I've done my track preparation such as walking the 6.2km track(took 2 hours) and the team is here prepared to compete. This race is also special for me as many of my sponsors have come together to make this race possible for me. Team Jebsen and Blue Girl Beer who regularly sponsor me in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, and also my Porsche Supercup sponsors, LKM and A-Ha Coffee. Thanks to you all for your continued support..

Below I've posted some pics of my car...Come back tomorrow for results of my free practice session on my favorite street circuit in the world!

This is about 1 week ago as Team Jebsen prepared the car in the Porsche Service Centre in Kowloon..

I don't have too much time to go into the race in detail rite now. I'm on the plane for a stopover in Dubai before heading back to Hong Kong.

I just wanted everyone to know one thing, I have won the championship of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia this past weekend. I was the winner in race 1, which was a very crucial win for my championship. In race 2, I came through in a comfortable 2nd place to clinch the title.

I'm very excited as this is my 2nd championship title in the PCCA. I'll give you a more detailed update really soon! Ciao..

We have been very quick in the free practice sessions, however today in qualifying, the car changed alot with the new tires.

I struggled with major oversteer on the first set of tires. I came in for my second set of tires and changed my setup alot, then went out back onto the track.

I managed to salvage the session and take back second position, but I was unable to take the pole position and the extra point for doing so.

I'm happy to start on the front row, but the race will be a tough one...

Menzel. 1:25.48
O'Young 1:25.75
Jones 1:25.84
Sugden 1:26.10

Thats it for now.. no more time to write anymore!! Ciao and wish me luck!!
The past couple weeks...

I apologize as it has been a couple weeks since my last post here on the blog. It has been very busy since the Shanghai GP and almost been non-stop. Although a lot of it was for work, a big part of it was also for family. As I had mentioned before, my Mom, Sister, and Grandmother were visiting me from Vancouver. After the Shanghai GP, I went with my family for a few days holiday in Suzhou and Hangzhou. Those couple days were relaxing and I loved the chance to spend time with my family as I miss them a lot as I rarely get to spend time with them these days. Too bad my dad couldn’t make the trip over this time, but I’ll see him and the rest of my family in December.

After my quick trip in China, I stopped by Hong Kong for a Blue Girl Beer promotion at Olympic City mall where the event was also joined by HK supermodel, Cara G. Straight after the event, I flew over to Taipei for my friends wedding. Taipei is fun because a have a few friends there, and also the food is SOOO good. Haha..

The day after getting back from Taipei, I went straight over to Zhu Hai to assist Porsche China in launching their new Porsche 911. Many journalists and customers came from all across China to experience this car, and with the new PDK double clutch gearbox and also the new 385hp direct fuel injection engine, the car is definitely worth an experience!

I got back to Hong Kong for 1 night and fit in an interview/photoshoot with Cosmopolitan Magazine, then flew here to Bahrain for the season finale of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. After what happened in Shanghai a couple weeks back, my championship lead is gone and we are now in a shootout situation for the overall title. With the top four drivers in the championship only separated by 7 points(I am in second position 3 points behind Christian Jones) we are all in a must win situation for this weekends double header showdown in the Middle East. You can imagine the tension everyone is feeling around this weekend, so the most important thing for me is to remain focused and put off all the pressure I might feel throughout the weekend.

I currently feel very relaxed and I arrived in Bahrain last nite. I’m going to head to the circuit with my engineer this morning and follow my usual routine to prepare for the weekend. Interestingly, because we are racing in a Muslim country, we are not permitted to compete on Sunday, so therefore everything is pushed forward a day with free practice being on Thursday, qualifying on Friday, and the two races on Saturday.

We will be a support race for the Australian V8 championship this weekend so that will be interesting because I know that championship is extremely competitive. I look forward to the weekend and I will talk soon after my free practices on Thursday.
