O’YOUNG TO REPRESENT GERMAN HI-TECH WHEEL MANUFACTURER ATS AS BRAND AMBASSADOR IN ASIA
DARRYL LOOKING TO SCORING IN SIX CONSECUTIVE RACES
WTCC FIRST VISIT TO TO HUNGARY
CHEVRELOTS STILL HEAVIEST GOING TO HUNGARORING

(2 June 2011, Hong Kong, China)  Just days after his heroic performance at the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia (PCCA hereafter) in Zhuhai, Darryl O’Young is again on the go, and gearing up for this week’s WTCC rounds 7 & 8 in Budapest, Hungary.

"I'm really looking forward to this weekend. We have been steadily moving up the championship standings since getting our new Chevrolet Cruze 1.6 Turbo 2 race weekends ago in Belgium. We have had good pace and have shown good fight against our other competitors, so I'm hoping to continue with the good results in Hungary this weekend.”

Having finished 6th and 7th overall at the Monza circuit slightly more than a fortnight ago, and scored points in four straight WTCC races, Darryl is keen to stack up more in the Drivers’ Championship and move further up the table. O’Young is currently in a three way tie for second place in the Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy, sitting 12 points behind leader Kristian Poulsen, but it is not the Dane Darryl is wary of.

"I think one of the toughest competitors this weekend will be Norbert Michelisz, as this is his home race and I would expect him to be quick here,” he said.

This week’s race in Hungary is the fourth race meeting of the season, which also marks WTCC’s first visit to the Eastern European country. Its 4.4km circuit is home to Formula One Grand Prix since 1986.

There will be no changes to the compensation weights in this week’s race, meaning the five Chevrolet Cruze 1.6 Turbo, including O’Young, will again be the heaviest cars on the circuit with an additional 40kg on top of their base weight.

Sponsors LKM and A-Ha Coffee are the major forces behind Darryl’s pursuit of success in the 2011 FIM World Touring Car Championship, with additional team support coming from Chevrolet. Please visit www.fiawtcc.com for more WTCC information and www.darryloyoung.com for the latest updates about Darryl.
