DARRYL TARGETS VICTORY IN PORTO STREET RACE DEBUT
EXTRA TEST SESSION & PROLONGED QUALIFYING FOR DRIVERS IN PORTUGALTHIS WEEKEND

(30 June 2011, Hong Kong, China)  The 2011 World Touring Car (WTCC) season reaches its half way point when the race resumes along the streets of Porto, Portugal this weekend, with Darryl O'Young looking to put behind him the results in Budapest and Brno, and go for victory in his maiden appearance in the Portuguese city.

"The last weekends in Budapest and Brno have been a struggle for me during the races. I hope to turn this around on the streets of Porto, I hope to win here and anything less will be a disappointment," said O'Young, who now ranks 4th in the Yokohama Drivers' Championship, sitting 18 points behind sole leader Kristian Poulsen.

The Porto circuit is no stranger to WTCC after staging the event twice in 2007 and 2009, but this will be Darryl's first visit to this famous track, which had been home to the Formula One racing on 16 occasions since 1958, and O'Young is keen to shine on his Porto debut.

"It will be my first time competing on this track, but I tend to like street circuits so I'll put my focus on studying the tracks in the days ahead of the race, so that I can make a move back up the independent standings," he said.

In Porto drivers will not only be given an extra 30-minute test session on Friday to re-discover the revamped track, there will also be an extended qualifying session (30-minute in Q1 and 15-minute Q2) for the events hosted on street circuits.

Sponsors LKM and A-Ha Coffee are the major forces behind Darryl’s pursuit of success in the 2011 FIM World Touring Car Championship, with additional team support coming from Chevrolet.  Please visit www.fiawtcc.com for more WTCC information and www.darryloyoung.com for the latest updates about Darryl.
