O’YOUNG LOOKS FORWARD TO FIRST RACE AT DONINGTON PARK
DARRYL BELIEVES IN INDEPENDENTS TROPHY CHANCES

(14 July 2011, Hong Kong, China)  The second half of the 2011 World Touring Car Championship is about to kick off at the revamped Donington Park this weekend, Hong Kong number one driver Darryl O’Young aims to renew his attacks on the Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy leaders in order to stay close to the leading trio and strive for the end-of-season glory in Macau.

"Sitting in 4th place and 15 points behind the leader, we are definitely within striking distance of the championship,” O’Young said with confidence. “However, we need to be aggressive and get some race wins back, so I will be pushing 100% and working on every single detail this coming weekend in Donington Park and I hope to close the gap to Norbert Michelisz and the other independent opponents ahead of me.”

Donington Park will be hosting its first ever WTCC event, so time will be the key to familiarize oneself with the track, which underwent a number of renovations since 2004.

"It’s my first time at the historic Donington Circuit and I am looking forward to the challenge of learning this high-speed circuit which features rolling hills and blind corners. It will be very important to gain confidence quickly so I can attack for a good lap time,” said the WTCC sophomore who pocketed ten points in two Porto rounds in Portugal a fortnight ago.

Donington Park last held a FIA World Championship meeting in the 1993 Formula One European Grand Prix.

Sponsors LKM and A-Ha Coffee are the major forces behind Darryl’s pursuit of success in the 2011 FIM World Touring Car Championship, with additional team support coming from Chevrolet.  Please visit www.fiawtcc.com for more WTCC information and www.darryloyoung.com for the latest updates about Darryl.
